When you have kids, you know that snacks are life. Your kid may fight you tooth and nail to eat a meal, but will willingly snack all day long if they were allowed.

But being part of this modern culture, what do you think of when you think of snacks for kids? Goldfish, applesauce pouches, animal crackers, string cheese, single serve chips, juice boxes, among many other things.

We started our Zero Waste journey right as my daughter was reaching snacking age and I felt stumped.

How in the world was I supposed to feed her Zero Waste snacks, when all the snacks that I’m familiar with were not only prepackaged, but separated further into a bunch of single serve packages?

I slowly gathered ideas and each week added new things, until eventually I had this fantastic list of Zero Waste snacks for kids!

To help your snacks be even more Zero Waste friendly when you’re out and about, consider using these easy tools to help pack your snacks!

  • Mason or Tupperware for wet foods
  • Reusable snack bags for dry foods
  • A reusable water bottle (we LOVE our Klean Kanteens!)
  • A reusable bag to throw it all in

THROW AND GO

These are all snacks that you could easily throw in your reusable snack bags or containers and just go! Check out your local bulk store to find even more options!
